Are Dukla Prague the Wimbledon of Czech football?
Most people around in the 60's & 70's will remember Dukla Praha (Prague in English) as one of the major teams in Czechoslovakia. And if you were around in the 80's you may remember Half Man Half Biscuit's song "All I Want For Christmas Is A Dukla Prague Away Kit".
In the late 90's the club suffered a major financial crisis and moved out of Prague to Příbram. Here they have played under the names FC Dukla, Dukla Příbram, Marila Příbram and now 1.FK Příbram.
Meanwhile Dukla Dejvice, a Prague team founded in 1959, took the name Dukla Prague in 2001. They now play at the original Dukla Prague stadium Juliska in Prague.
Unlike the AFC Wimbledon/MK Dons example in England, the relocated team (1.FK Příbram) still claim the titles won by the original team on their website.
Czech domestic cup notes
The Ceský Pohár (Czech Cup) winners have only been included from the 1993/94 season onwards.
The Ceskoslovenský Pohár (Czechoslovak Cup) finals were played between the Ceský Pohár (Czech Cup) and Slovenský Pohár (Slovak Cup) winners.
