Notes and a case for floodlights

  •  1: From the 1927/28 season the league was decided on a play-off basis, with regional league winners playing each other for the national championship.
  •  2: Although the final was played on 8th November 1931, the cup was for the 1931/32 season.
  •  3: Due to World War II the 1940/41 competition was abandoned after the 1st Round.
  •  4: The first cup final game of 1948/49 was abandoned in extra time due to bad light.
  •  5: A proper national league was started for the 1959/60 season.
  •  6: Due to delays during the game the match over ran its expected duration, so was abandoned in the 97th minute due to bad light. No replay was scheduled, so the cup wasn't awarded for 1961/62.
  •  7: The Panathinaikos v Olympiacos semi final wasn't completed due to crowd problems. A replay wasn't played. The other finalists, AEK, were awarded the 1963/64 cup by the Greek FA.
  •  8: The 1965/66 cup final was not played due to Olympiacos choosing not to contest it.
  •  9: The 1968/69 cup final was drawn 1-1 at full time, so the winner was decided by drawing lots, which Panathinaikos won.

Research

I've cross referenced as much as possible and added links to the new club website where possible. Many thanks goes to the RSSSF Archive, which was an invaluable source of information whenever an insolvable fact was needed. If you need to find a football answer, it will be on there somewhere.
