The Moses Sole secretes a milky substance when caught. Dr Eugenie Clark, an ichthyologist, discovered this was a toxin (pardaxin), which acts as a shark repellent. So as they are so poisonous, why are they so well camouflaged in a sea of fantastically coloured fish? What are they hiding from?
